CIL’s August coal despatches down 1.92% m-o-m

September 29: Despatches by Coal India Ltd (CIL) stood at 37.27 million tons (mt) in August 2014 against 38 mt recorded in July, showing a marginal decline of 1.92%, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

In August 2013, despatches stood at 35.06 mt.

Of the total despatches during the month of August 2014, those to the power sector was at 28.54 mt (28.94 mt in July 2014), steel sector at 0.54 mt (0.53 mt in July 2014), cement sector at 0.36 mt (0.51 mt), fertiliser 0.2 mt (0.13 mt).

The company had despatched 26.29 mt, 0.56 mt, 0.43 mt and 0.21 mt, respectively to the power, steel, cement and fertiliser sectors in August 2013.
