CIL’s December coal despatches up 5.66% m-o-m

January 29: Despatches by Coal India Ltd (CIL) stood at 43.88 million tons (mt) in December 2014 against 41.53 mt recorded in November, showing an increase of 5.66%, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

In December 2013, despatches stood at 42.88 mt.

Of the total despatches during December, 2014, those to the power sector were at 35.08 mt (34.44 mt in November 2014), to the steel sector at 0.56 mt (0.59 mt in November 2014), cement sector at 0.51 mt (0.43 mt) and fertiliser companies at 0.19 mt (0.17 mt).

The company had despatched 31.93 mt, 0.66 mt, 0.45 mt and 0.22 mt, respectively to the power, steel, cement and fertiliser sectors in December 2013.
