CIL’s December coal production exceeds target

Coal India Ltd (CIL) exceeded its December 2015 coal production target as it ended up producing 52.07 million tons (mt) in December 2015 against the target of 51.08 mt. The production level is 102% of the target.
In December, the company reported a 10.78% year-on-year (y-o-y) and 9.69% month-on-month (m-o-m) growth in coal production as compared to 47.47 mt seen in November 2015 and 47 mt in December 2014.
The company’s production growth rate in November was 6.98%.
Total production during the first nine months from April to December of 2015-16 stood at 373.45 mt, nearly 3% lower than the target of 383.08 mt set for the period, but 9.07% higher compared to 342.37 mt produced during the corresponding period of 2014-15.
