CIL’s July coal despatches down 0.68% m-o-m

August 27: Despatches by Coal India Ltd (CIL) stood at 38 million tons (mt) in July 2014 against 38.26 mt recorded for June, showing a marginal decline of 0.68%, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

In July 2013, despatches stood at 38.18 mt.

Of the total despatches during the month of July 2014, those to the power sector was at 28.94 mt (29.1 mt in June 2014); steel sector at 0.53 mt (0.48 mt in June 2014), cement sector at 0.51 mt (0.37 mt), fertiliser 0.13 mt (0.14 mt).

The company had despatched 28.46 mt, 0.65 mt, 0.50 mt and 0.17 mt, respectively to the power, steel, cement and fertiliser sectors in July 2013.
