CIL’s Nov coal despatches up 9.16% m-o-m

December 18: Despatches by Coal India Ltd (CIL) stood at 38.72 million tons (mt) during November 2013, up 9.16% from 35.47 tons recorded in October 2013, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

The company’s despatches in November 2013 were also up 0.55% compared to 38.51 mt reported in November 2012, according to provisional data made available to ICMW.

Of the total despatches during the month of November 2013, those to the priority sectors were thus: 29.3 mt to the power sector, 0.63 mt to the steel sector, 0.46 mt to the cement sector (including their captive power plants) and 0.23 mt to the fertiliser sector.

The company had despatched 29.27 mt, 0.63 mt, 0.51 mt and 0.17 mt to the power, steel, cement and fertiliser sectors respectively in November 2012.

Despatches during the first eight months of the current financial year of 2013-14 stood at 298.3 mt compared to 292.61 mt despatched during the corresponding period of 2012-13.

On the other hand, despatches during 2012-13 stood at 464.77 mt, up nearly 7.57% compared to 432.07 mt in 2011-12.
