CIL’s Sept coal despatches down 5.85% m-o-m

October 29: Despatches by Coal India Ltd (CIL) stood at 35.09 million tons (mt) in September 2014 against 37.27 mt recorded in August, showing a decline of 5.85%, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

In September 2013, despatches stood at 35.75 mt.

Of the total despatches during September, 2014, those to the power sector was at 28.95 mt (28.54 mt in August 2014), to the steel sector at 0.59 mt (0.54 mt in August 2014), cement sector at 0.39 mt (0.36 mt), fertiliser 0.19 mt (0.20 mt).

The company had despatched 26.94 mt, 0.61 mt, 0.41 mt and 0.18 mt, respectively to the power, steel, cement and fertiliser sectors in September 2013.
