CIL’s loading by rake rise 9.32% y-o-y in Apr-Feb
29 Mar 2016
Coal India Ltd (CIL) loaded on an average 211 rakes of coal per day during the first 11 months (April-February) of 2015-16, up 9.32% compared to 193 rakes loaded per day during the same period of 2014-15, according to data available with ICMW.
However, despite recording a growth in the number of rakes loaded per day during the year, the company could not achieve its target of loading 231 rakes per day till February, partly because of low demand for coal from the power sector and also due to low availability of rakes from the railways.
The company had set a target to load 233 rakes per day during the financial year 2015-16, but the performance till February indicates that it will not be able to achieve the target.
In February, the company had loaded only 227 rakes per day against the target of 253 rakes per day. However, the loading in February this year was up 4.12% compared to 218 rakes per day loaded in February 2015.
