CIL signs 150 FSAs till September 5
06 Sep 2013
September 6: Coal India Ltd (CIL) has, till September 5, signed a total of 150 fuel supply agreements with power plants involving total generation capacity of about 58,000 MW, a senior official of Central Electricity Authority (CEA) told ICMW.
"CIL has to sign a total of 173 FSAs involving total generation capacity of around 78,000 MW within September 16 and it is expected that all but 4-5 FSAs would be signed within the deadline," the official added.
"Of the 173 FSAs that are to be signed, at least three cannot be signed as plants are not as per schedule whereas FSAs with 2 more plants cannot be signed because those plants are slightly delayed and have not yet reached the stage of signing the FSAs," the official added.
"The three plants that are not as per schedule may have generation capacity of around 1,000 MW while the balance two plants have capacity of around 1,000 MW. This means, a total of 168 FSA totalling generation capacity of 76,000 MW has to be signed within September 16," the CEA official said.
"We are right now under tremendous pressure from the office of Ministry of Power to ensure that all the FSAs are signed before the deadline," the official added.
