CIL spot coal allotment via other platform falls sharply in Feb

March 26: The allotted and offered quantities of coal through the MSTC platform in February 2014 both fell sharply as compared with that in January 2014, according to information available with ICMW.
In February, 1.5 million tons (mt) of various types of coal were offered by five subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL) on the MSTC platform of which 1.07 mt got allotted.
However, in January 2014, 3.7 mt of various types of coal were offered by six subsidiaries of CIL on the MSTC platform of which 3.3 mt got allotted.
On the other hand, in December 2013, 1.9 million tons of various types of coal were offered by five subsidiaries of CIL on the MSTC platform of which 1.47 mt got allotted.
