CMD meeting of CIL on July 4

July 2: The first meeting of Chairman and Managing Directors (CMD) of subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd (CIL) after the resignation of CIL Chairman S Narsing Rao will be held on July 4 in Kolkata, according to information available with ICMW.

“The newly appointed interim-Chairman of CIL, Dr. A K Dubey, will be present in the meeting to be held at the company’s headquarters in Kolkata on July 4,” an official said.

“On 4th July, Dubey is going to meet all the CMDs of subsidiary companies in Kolkata. The meeting is at 3 pm. There is a safety board meeting in the morning of same day and CMD meet will be in the afternoon,” the official said.

Dr. Dubey was recently appointed interim Chairman of CIL in the wake of resignation of Rao in May.

The meeting bears significance as not only CIL is working without its Chairman for last almost one and half month, but three of its subsidiaries – SECL, WCL and NCL – too do not have full time CMD.

While, SECL does not have full time CMD for more than four years now after the then CMD M P Dixit was suspended and subsequently removed in connection with a bribery case. The Director (Technical) of CIL, N Kumar, is currently officiating as CMD of SECL.

On the other hand, WCL CMD D C Garg expired recently after a massive cardiac arrest.

NCL too does not fully time CMD for nearly three years.
