CMOAI peeved over lack of progress on PRP

April 3: About a month has passed since the Coal Mine Officers Association of India (CMOAI) deferred its 3-day strike over performance related pay (PRP), but there is little progress on the issue, an association leader told ICMW on April 3.
"The issue has got stuck with the Office of the Coal Secretary. Till today, we have not received any confirmation that the note prepared by the coal ministry on PRP has been forwarded to the Election Commission (EC)," the leader said.
As the election code of conduct is currently in place, the proposal would first need to be vetted by the EC before it can be forwarded to the Cabinet for its approval.
Earlier, the proposal had received the nod of the Committee of Secretaries (CoS), following which the coal ministry had prepared a note for the Union Cabinet, he said.
"We are now adopting a wait-and-watch approach; but if we see things are not moving, we will take recourse to appropriate action," he added.
