CMPDI, CCO told to finalise grading of jhama
09 Mar 2016
The Ministry of Coal (MoC) has urged the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI) and Coal Controller’s Office (CCO) to finalise the grading of jhama coal (or natural coke) available in the country.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, CMPDI and CCO have been asked to take up the matter and finalise the same “at the earliest”.
The suggestion came in the wake of the recent meeting held on policy formulation for disposal of washery rejects/middlings/surplus coal etc. A base paper regarding the same was prepared and circulated to all the participants.
The stakeholders, including Coal India Ltd (CIL), are yet to arrive at a decision on the same.
