CMPDI to complete coal map digitisation in 2015
16 Dec 2014
December 16: The Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd (CIL), expects to complete its coal map digitisation project in 2015, a top official told ICMW.
“A lot of work has already been done…hopefully, within another 6-7 months, the project will be completed and all the coal-bearing areas of the country will be covered under it,” the official said.
As part of the project, he said, the details of all mines will be made available on the website.
“All the coal blocks in India, including that of CIL and others, will be just a click away. All that one has to do is to click the button and the details about any block would be found,” said the official.
He further said that the project will particularly help the private sector companies investing in captive mines.
