CPI, CFPI indices down for October

November 13: Both the consumer price index (CPI) and consumer food price indices (CFPI) fell considerably in October 2014 compared to that in September, according to data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on November 12.
The combined CPI (both rural and urban areas) for the month of October stood provisionally at 5.5%, down from 6.46% in September 2014 (revised) and at 10.17% in the same month a year-ago (October 2014).
The combined CFPI (both rural and urban areas) for the month of October stood at 5.59%, down marginally from 7.67 (revised) in September and significantly lower from 12.93% in October 2013, the data revealed.
