CPI, CFPI indices down for September

October 14: Both the consumer price index (CPI) and consumer food price indices (CFPI) fell considerably in September 2014 compared to that in August, according to data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on October 13.
The combined CPI (both rural and urban areas) for the month of September stood provisionally at 6.46%, down from 7.73% in August 2014 (revised) and 9.84% in the same month a year-ago period (September 2014).
The combined CFPI (both rural and urban areas) for the month of September stood at 7.67%, down marginally from 9.35% (revised) in August and significantly lower from 11.75% in September 2013, the data revealed.
