CPI index down marginally for August, CFPI up

September 12: The consumer price index (CPI) fell marginally in August as compared to July, but consumer food price indices (CFPI) rose slightly, according to a data released by Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
The combined CPI (both rural and urban areas) for the month of August stood at 7.80% down marginally from 7.96% in July and significantly from 9.52% in August 2013.
The combined CFPI (both rural and urban areas) for the month of August stood at 9.78%, up from 9.36% in July, but down significantly from 11.11% in August 2013, the data revealed.
