CS50 Coal Index closed at $40.27 per ton ; fell 0.15% from last week

The 5700 GAR CS (i) coal index fell by US cents 3 per ton week over week on 20 November 2015. CS 57 (5700 GAR coal) index closed at US$ 51.09 a ton on 20 November 2015 a 0.04% lesser compared to US$ 51.11 a ton closed on 13 November.

The CS (i) Coal index is the newly established price reference for Indonesian coal. CS (i) Coal Index, contains independent, real-time price assessments. The index are based on the inputs provided by CS (i) coal index panelists on real-time basis during Indonesian office hours.

COALspot.com is publishing CS (i) Coal Index since 17 September 2015 for 3800, 4200, 5000 and 5700 kcal/kg GAR coal of Indonesian Origin. A set of these four indices developed by COALspot.com is intended to help the industry to monitor the trend of coal prices on real-time basis and act as a market forecaster for active coal producers, traders and end-users.

CS 50 (5000 GAR) Index down US cents Six per ton on 20 November to US$ 40.27 week over week, while CS 42 (4200 GAR) index closed at US$ 27.33 per ton for the same period.

CS 38 which is representing 3800 GAR coal of Indonesian origin was closed at US$ 22.60 per ton on 20 November 2015 US cents 24 lesser compared to previous week closing. According to CS (i) coal index’s past records, the CS 38 index has lost at least 26.62% since 9 January 2015. Meantime, the CS 42 and 50 indices have lost around 27.92% and 19.49% respectively since 2 January 2015. CS 57 index was lost around 14.77% since 12 January 2015.
