CTNPL floats global NIT to set up 4,000-MW Cheyyur UMPP

September 26: Coastal Tamil Nadu Power Limited (CTNPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation Limited, has floated a global notice inviting tender (NIT) for development and operation of the 4,000-MW Cheyyur Ultra Mega Power project (UMPP) on a design-build-finance-operate-transfer (DBFOT) basis.
The 4,000-MW UMPP, which is a coastal power project, will be set up near Cheyyur village in the Kancheepuram district in the state of Tamil Nadu and will be based on imported coal with a captive port at Panaiyur.
The beneficiary states will be Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.
Interested parties can submit their bids till November 11, 2013.
