Cabinet clears 5,100 crore power, cement plant plans

The cabinet on Tuesday cleared proposals related to special benefits for setting up cement and power plants in the state and gave an in-principle nod for a private hospital in Kishangarh.
The in-principle approval came for setting up of medical college with 150 seats by Hemdha Medi Resources Pvt Ltd in Bubani village of Kishangarh in Ajmer. In the first phase, 350 bedded hospital will be set up in medical college with the investment of Rs 150 crore.
"In the second phase, the beds will be increased by another 100 with an additional investment of Rs 120 crore. Various exemptions to be given in VAT, entry tax and electricity charges according to the provisions made,'' said state parliamentary affairs minister Rajendra Rathore during the post-meeting briefing.
The cabinet also cleared proposal regarding setting up of new cement unit having 3.30 MTPA capacity and captive power plant at Nawalgarh (Jhunjhnu) by Ultratech Cement Ltd. "Investment of worth Rs 3,000 crore will be made and around 1,000 people will get direct and indirect employment in this project. It will also set up new cement unit of 2.20 MTPA capacity and captive power plant at Jaitaran (Pali). The company will invest Rs 2,100 crore and around 750 people to get direct and indirect employment," said the minister.
