Canadian pet coke offered to Indian cement-maker

June 5: Canadian high sulphur pet coke is being offered to the east coast of India for prompt delivery, an industry source said.

A Panamax with a sulphur content of 6.8% is being offered to an Indian cement producer at $95-96/t CIF, basis 7,700kc NAR, the source said.

Freight from east coast Canadian ports to east coast India is estimated at $29-30/ton, according to shipping sources. This leaves a net back of $65-66/t FOB, on the same basis.

For similar quality pet coke out of US Gulf ports, FOB prices are around $63/t FOB, basis 7,500kc NAR.
