December 19: A cautious trend prevailed in international coal markets on December 18 as buyers opted to wait for a clear trend to emerge over prices even as Australian steam coal prices firmed up on restricted availability of cargo for spot loading, market sources said.
Reports of talks about contract finalisation in China and met departments’ prediction that possibility of Queensland experiencing rainfall above the normal in January-March 2015 period is only 35-40% affected the overall sentiment.
