Cement cos’ Feb coal consumption dips 8.39% m-o-m

May 19: The Indian cement sector consumed a total of 1.496 mt of coal during February 2014, down 8.39% from 1.633 mt in January.

During February 2014, 0.95 mt was consumed during the process of cement-making while 0.547 mt was used in generation of captive power. On the other hand, in January 2014, 1.097 mt was consumed during the process of cement-making while 0.535 mt was used in generation of captive power.
