Chennai Port’s FY16 limestone exports drop 14% y-o-y

There have been no limestone exports from the port of Chennai in March 2016 while 535 tons were exported in February 2016, according to provisional data available with ISMW.

Total imports of limestone through the entire fiscal of 2015-16 dropped 14.43% to 8,365 tons against 9,776 tons seen in the previous fiscal of 2014-15.

In February 2016, exports comprised 363 tons to the United Kingdom in a price range of Rs 8,783 – Rs 17,415 per ton, 16 tons to Australia at Rs 68,400/ton, 48 tons to Germany at a unit price of Rs 9,024, amongst others.
