China’s benchmark power coal price increased faintly throughout the last week.

 

The Bohai-Rim Steam-Coal Price Index (BSPI), a gauge of coal prices in north China’s main ports, hit 593 yuan (about USD91.86) per ton on Wednesday, January 6, an upsurge of 8 yuan week on week, according to Qinhuangdao Ocean Shipping Coal Trading Market Co. Ltd.

 

In this period, the Bohai Rim steam coal market has been strong. The demand for power generation continued to be elevated because of the double upsurge of housing and industrial power consumption.
