China coke, met coal prices may grow in Aug

China’s metallurgical coke price may increase further in early and mid-August and then stabilize towards the end of this month, mainly underpinned by the supply disruption in North China’s Shanxi - the country’s core coking base, but coke margins may shrink as the domestic coking coal prices may climb up too on the persistent supply tightness, though uncertainties on demand will remain, Mysteel shared in its monthly outlook reports.
Both the prices have started August on a higher note, as on August 2, Mysteel’s national composite coke price increased Yuan 73.8/tonne ($11.4/t) on week to Yuan 2,734.3/t including the 13% VAT, or approaching its 13-year high of Yuan 2,768.7/t on July 1.
