China’s Jan exports to India’s up 5%, imports fall 36%

February 12: China’s total exports to India rose 5.1% in January but imports declined sharply by 36.2% during the month as compared to the corresponding figures in January 2014, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC).
According to the GACC data, China’s exports to India in January stood at RMB 30,569,550,000 or $4891.13 million (exchange rate $1=RMB 6.25), while imports from India stood at only RMB 7,723,250,000 or $1235.72 million during the month.
GACC did not provide import and export figures for January 2014, but said that imports in January 2015 from India were down 36.2% whereas exports were up 5.1%.
