22 Jun 2021
In May, China’s coking coal imports plunged by 29.6% on year to 3.4 million tonnes, according to recent data from China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC), which was mainly due to the lower volumes from both Australia and Mongolia - China’s top two coking coal suppliers in terms of 2020 tonnages, Mysteel Global understood.
The same as the past few months, no coking coal imports were recorded from Australia in China’s May GACC data, which was in sharp contrast to the 2.1 million tonnes a year ago, Mysteel Global noted.
