Mysteel’s assessment of low-sulphur prime coking coal pricing index in China hit its 1.5-year low of Yuan 1,475.6/t including the 13% VAT on October 18 after having declined another Yuan 23.8/tonne ($3.4/t) on week over October 14-18 amid the remaining domestic tepid demand. 

Mysteel launched the pricing index in April 2018, and Mysteel’s composite coking coal price, thus, dropped by Yuan 7.3/t on week to reach a one-year low at Yuan 1,154.6/t including the 13% VAT, as the price of non-prime coal was generally unchanged on week. Non-prime coal, being more sensitive to the market sentiment change,
