Coal India Limited’s November output up 13.32% y-o-y

December 2: Coal India Limited (CIL) on December 2 said its November output registered a strong growth compared to the level recorded in November 2013 as well as October 2014.
Production of CIL in November 2014 stood at 44.42 million tons (mt), up 13.32% over 39.20 mt produced in November 2013, but was slightly down, or was 97% of the target of 45.69 mt for the month of November 2014, according to provisional data released by the company.
With this, CIL’s November output was the highest in the current financial year as coal production in thee of eight CIL subsidiaries achieved more than their respective targets.
On a month-on-month basis too, the company’s output grew 10.50% compared to 40.20 mt produced in October 2014.
During April-November, 2014-15, coal production by the world’s largest coal miner stood at 295.38 mt, up 7.52% over 274.71 mt produced in the corresponding period of 2013-14.
The company’s coal production target for the April-November, 2014-15 was 305.54 mt.
For the current financial year, the company has set a production target of 507.00 mt.
According to available data, the company’s actual production in October 2014 was 97% of the targeted 45.69 mt.
