Coal India invites bids for 3rd phase of drilling in Mozambique

April 30: Coal India Ltd (CIL) has invited bids for the third phase of drilling in the Moatize Coalfield in Tete Province of Mozambique.
"In order to establish coal resource base, Coal India Africana Limitada (CIAL), a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd (CIL), plans to continue exploration in licence areas nos. 3450 L and 3451 L in Tete Province, Mozambique through outsourcing," the company said in the tender document.
The estimated job value is $1.08 million and the last date for submission of bids is May 16 (up to 3.00 pm MST). The bids will be opened on the same day.
The first stage of drilling of the mines had been completed in May last year. The contract for initial drilling was awarded in November 2012. CIAL had won a 5-year licence for exploration and development of mines in Mozambique in August, 2009.
