Coal India’ s February production up 13% y-o-y

March 2: Coal India Limited (CIL), on March 2, said its February 2015 output registered a sharp increase from February 2014 as well as January 2015.
Production of CIL in February 2015 stood at 47.98 million tons (mt), up 12.73% over 42.56 mt produced in February 2014, according to provisional data released by the company.
During February, the largest coal miner in the world surpassed its monthly production target of 46.58 million tons (mt) as five of its eight subsidiaries -- ECL, BCCL, CCL, NCL and SECL -- surpassed their respective targets, data revealed.
On a month-on-month basis too, the company’s output increased slightly from 46.60 mt produced in January 2015.
During April-February, 2014-15, coal production by the world’s largest coal miner stood at 436.96 mt, up 6.80% over 409.13 mt produced in the corresponding period of 2013-14.
The company’s coal production target for the April-February, 2014-15 was 450.14 mt.
For the current financial year, the company has set a production target of 507.00 mt.
According to available data, the company’s actual production in February 2014 was 103% of the targeted 46.58 mt.
