Coal India’s Sept off-take falls marginally y-o-y

October 9: Coal India Limited (CIL), on October 9, said its off-take during September 2014 fell slightly compared to the level reported in September 2013 while, on a month-on-month basis too, the company’s off-take was lower compared to that in August 2014.
Off-take levels in September 2014 stood at 35.12 million tons (mt), slightly down from 35.78 mt produced in September 2013, according to provisional data released by the company.
On a month-on-month basis, the company’s off-take fell by 5.84% from 37.30 mt in August 2014.
During April-September, 2014-15, off-take by the world’s largest coal miner stood at 230.01 mt, up 2.51% over 224.36 mt reported in the corresponding period of 2013-14.
For the current financial year, the company has set an off-take target of 520.00 mt.
CIL’s off-take targets for April-September, 2014 were at 246.02 mt.
According to available data, the company’s actual off–take during September 2014 was 96% of the target of 36.76 mt.
