December 31: Coal India Ltd (CIL) is expected to shift its headquarters from Netaji Subhash Bose Road in central Kolkata to a modern and state-of-the-art office building within the information technology hub at Rajarhat in east Kolkata by March-April, 2015, a company spokesperson said.
“Our new office building is almost ready for possession. About 95% of the work is complete. We expect to shift by March-April,” the spokesperson said.
The company management has planned to organise an inauguration ceremony in the presence of top government officials such as the President and Prime Minister before formally shifting to the new office.
The senior management staff, including the directors, would be shifted to the new premises, while the existing building (which is a heritage property) will accommodate staff working out of other rented premises within the city.
In addition, the subsidiaries having offices in Kolkata and operating out of rented premises will be brought into the existing building.
