Coal Ministry says no need to lodge FIR on missing coal files: CBI sources
20 Sep 2013
The Coal Ministry, which seems to be reluctant on sharing details of the missing coal files, has said that there is no need to file an FIR in the case, according to CBI sources.
Sources said that the CBI will ask the Coal Ministry to file an FIR on missing files. This comes after the Coal Ministry in its letter to CBI was not clear and had no details about the missing files, sources said.
However, according to CBI sources, 15 to 16 documents and four to five files are missing. The UPA government has come under severe criticism from the opposition parties after the Supreme Court came down heavily on the Coal Ministry and directed it to hand over the missing documents related to coal blocks allocation scam.
