Coal despatches by CIL, SCCL fall 9.38% in Feb m-o-m

March 17: Despatches of coal by domestic miners Coal India Ltd (CIL) and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL), in February 2014, stood at 33.90 million tons (mt), down 9.38% as compared to 37.41 mt in December 2013, according to provisional data of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
       
Of the total despatches in February 2014, CIL's comprised 30.75 mt while's SCCL's share was at 3.15 mt.

The two companies had despatched a total of 33.02 mt coal in February 2013 of which 29.93 mt had been despatched by CIL and 3.09 mt by SCCL.

During the first 11 months (April-February) of 2013-14, total despatches by CIL and SCCL stood at 352.54 mt compared to 343.91 mt recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.
