Coal despatches by CIL, SCCL up 1.17% in May m-o-m

June 13: Despatches of coal by domestic miners Coal India Ltd (CIL) and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL), during May 2014 stood at 32.99 million tons (mt), up 1.17% from 32.61 mt despatched during April, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

Of the total despatches in April 2014, CIL’s comprised 29.97 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 3.03 mt whereas in April, the share stood at 29.49 mt and 3.12 mt by CIL and SCCL, respectively.

On the other hand, in May 2013, CIL had despatched 28.61 mt and SCCL had despatched 2.67 mt.

During the first two months (April-May) of 2014-15, total coal despatched by CIL and SCCL stood at 65.61 mt while the figure stood at 63.98 mt during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

In 2013-14, despatches stood at 388.09 mt, up 1.15% as compared to 383.66 mt recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.

Of the total despatches in 2013-14, CIL’s comprised 353.82 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 34.27 mt.
