Coal despatches by CIL, SCCL up 1.36% in July y-o-y

August 27: Despatches of coal by domestic miners Coal India Ltd (CIL) and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL), during July 2014, stood at 42.11 million tons (mt), up 1.36% y-o-y from 41.54 mt in July 2013, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
The despatches in July 2014, however, fell slightly from 42.28 mt reported in June 2013.
Of the total despatches in July 2014, CIL’s share comprised 38.003 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 4.103 while in the same month a year ago, share of CIL and SCCL stood at 38.180 mt and 3.360 mt respectively. In June, CIL despatched 38.259 mt of coal while despatches from SCCL stood at 4.026 during the month.
During July 2014, CIL fell short of its target of 40.447 mt but SCCL surpassed its target of 4.065 mt.
During the first four months (April-July) of 2014-15, total coal despatched by CIL and SCCL rose 3.29% to 174.112 mt compared to 168.571 mt recorded for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. In this, CIL’s share was 157.435 mt and SCCL’s, 16.677 mt.
The despatch target for the first four months of 2014-15 was 171.289 mt for CIL) and 17.640 mt for SCCL).
In 2013-14, despatches stood at 388.09 mt, up 1.15% compared to 383.66 mt recorded in 2012-13.
Of the total despatches in 2013-14, CIL’s share comprised 353.82 mt and SCCL’s, 34.27 mt.
