Coal despatches by CIL, SCCL up 28.16% in June m-o-m

June 13: Despatches of coal by domestic miners Coal India Ltd (CIL) and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL), during June 2014 stood at 42.28 million tons (mt), up 28.16% from 32.99 mt despatched during May, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
The despatches in June this year were, however, up 3.29% compared to 40.94 mt despatched during the same month of 2013.
Of the total despatches in June 2014, CIL’s share comprised 38.259 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 4.026 mt while in the total despatches in May 2014, CIL’s share comprised 29.97 mt and SCCL’s was at 3.03 mt.
However, both CIL and SCCL fell short of their targets of 41.973 mt (CIL) and 4.50 mt (SCCL) in June 2014.
During the first three months (April-June) of 2014-15, total coal despatched by CIL and SCCL rose 3.91% to 132.005 mt compared to 127.034 mt recorded for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. In this, CIL’s share was 119.432 mt and SCCL’s, 12.573 mt.
The despatch target for the first three months of 2014-15 was 130.842 mt (CIL) and 13.575 mt (SCCL).
In 2013-14, despatches stood at 388.09 mt, up 1.15% compared to 383.66 mt recorded in 2012-13.
Of the total despatches in 2013-14, CIL’s share comprised 353.82 mt and SCCL’s, 34.27 mt.
