Coal despatches by CIL, SCCL up 8.97% in November

December 12: Despatches of coal by domestic miners Coal India Ltd (CIL) and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL), in November 2013, stood at 32.43 million tons (mt), up 8.97% compared to 29.76 mt in October 2013, according to provisional data of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).

Of the total despatches in November 2013, CIL had despatched 29.46 mt whereas SCCL had despatched 2.97 mt.

The two companies had despatched a total of 32.18 mt coal in November 2012 of which 29.25 mt was despatched by CIL and 2.93 mt by SCCL.

During the first eight months (April-November) of 2013-14, total despatches by CIL and SCCL stood at 245.33 mt compared to 239.06 mt during the corresponding period of the previous year.
