July 16: Coal handling at Ennore port fell by 9% and stood at 1,776,000 tons during June 2013 as compared to 1,952,000 tons handled in May 2013, according to a compilation by Indian Ports Association (IPA).
In June 2012, however, the coal handling stood at 1,092,000 tons.
During the first three months of the current financial year (2013-14), total coal handling at the port stood at 5,400,000 tons as compared to 3,653,232 tons handled during corresponding period of 2012-13.
