Coal handling at Kandla Port quadruples in Feb m-o-m

March 28: Coal handling at Kandla Port stood at 331,000 tons during the month of February 2014, up almost four times from 77,000 tons handled during January, according to data compiled by the Indian Ports' Association (IPA).

During February 2013, total coal handled by the port stood at 356,012 tons.

During the first 11 months of the current financial year, total coal handled by the port stood at 6,040,802 tons while the figure stood at 4,002,389 tons during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
