Coal handling at Kandla falls 18% in July m-o-m

August 30: Coal handling at Kandla port fell to 751,881 tons in July 2013, down 18% from 917,020 tons handled in June, a senior port official told ICMW on August 30.

Out of the total coal handled at the port during the month, the entire quantity was thermal coal, he said.

The coal handling figure stood at 449,548 tons (entire quantity being thermal coal) in July 2012.

During the first four months of 2013-14, total coal handled at the port stood at 2,572,788 tons while it stood at 1,443,461 tons during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
