Coal handling at Kandla port falls 11.55% in Dec m-o-m

January 28: Coal handling at Kandla port stood at 1,026,000 tons during the month of December 2014, down 11.55% from 1,160,000 tons handled during the month of November, a compilation by Indian Ports Association (IPA) revealed.

During the month of December 2013, coal handled at the port stood at 276,000 tons.

During the first nine months (April-December) of 2014-15, total coal handled by the port stood at 7,911,000 tons whereas the figure stood at 5,632,802 tons during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
