Coal handling at Mormugao Port down 7.1% in April m-o-m

May 29: Handling of coal at Mormugao port dropped 7.1% during the month of April 2014 and stood at 654,877 tons as compared to 705,000 tons handled during the month of March, a senior port official told ICMW on May 29.
Out of the total coal handled during the month of April 2014, thermal coal accounted for 29,702 tons while the rest of 625,175 tons consisted of coking coal.
During April 2013, coal handling at the port stood at 701,000 tons.
During 2013-14, total coal handled at the port stood at 9,027,477 tons while the figure stood at 7,321,000 tons during 2012-13.
