Coal handling at Mormugao up 41.65% m-o-m in Sept

October 21: Coal handling at Mormugao Port stood at 653,000 tons during September 2014, up 41.65% from 461,000 tons handled during the month of August 2014, according to a compilation by the Indian Ports’ Association (IPA).

During September 2013, total handling of coal at the port stood at 513,000 tons.

During the first six months of (April-September) 2014-15, total coal handled by the port stood at 3,564,000 tons whereas the figure stood at 5,063,477 tons during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
