Coal handling at Paradip port up 20.09% in Nov m-o-m

December 26: Coal handling at Paradip port moved up 20.09% to 2,764,560 tons during the month of November 2013 as compared to 2,302,038 tons in the month of October, a senior port official told ICMW on December 26.

Coal handled during November 2013 was also up 12.19% against 2,464,236 tons handled during the same month last year.

Of the total quantity handled during November 2013, the volume of imported coking coal was 916,152 tons while imported thermal and domestic thermal coal accounted for 348,284 tons and 1,500,124 tons, respectively.

During the first eight months (April-November) of 2013-14, total coal handling at the port stood at 21,080,598 tons compared to 16,320,050 tons in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
