Coal handling at Porbandar port almost doubles in Sept

October 31: Handling of coal at Porbandar port stood at 41,290 tons during the month of September 2013, up almost twice as compared to 20,000 tons handled during August 2013, a senior port official told ICMW on October 31.

uring September 2012, total coal handling at the port stood at 4,290 tons.

During the first six months (April-September) of the current financial year of 2013-14, total coal handled at the port stood at 235,840 tons whereas the figure stood at 216,513 tons during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
