Coal handling at V.O. Chidambaranar Port up 27.96% in Feb m-o-m

March 18: Coal handling at V.O. Chidambaranar Port stood at 572,000 tons during of February 2014, up 27.96% from 447,000 tons handled during the previous month, according to a compilation by the Indian Ports' Association (IPA).

During February 2013, total coal handling at the port stood at 833,711 tons.

During the first 11 months of the current financial year, total coal handled at the port stood at 8,741,572 tons whereas the figure stood at 9,638,949 tons in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
