Coal handling at V.O Chidambaranar port falls 38.28% m-o-m

January 28: Coal handling at V.O Chidambaranar port stood at 545,000 tons during the month of December 2014, down 38.28% from 883,000 tons handled during November, a compilation by Indian Ports Association (IPA) revealed.

During December 2013, coal handling at the port stood at 498,000 tons.

During the first nine months (April-December) of 2014-15, total coal handled by the port stood at 6,148,000 tons whereas the figure stood at 7,722,572 tons during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
