Coal handling by 15 Indian ports down 4% in July m-o-m

August 29: Total coal handling by 15 major and minor Indian ports during the month of July 2014 fell by 3.99% as compared to the previous month, according to a compilation by ICMW.
A total of 10,668,497 tons of coal was handled by the above ports during the month of July 2014 as compared to 11,112,907 tons handled by the same number of ports in June 2014, the compilation revealed.
During the corresponding month of the previous year (July 2013) total coal handling by these ports stood higher at 12,778,694 tons.
Total coal handling, both domestic and imported, by 15 major and minor ports of India during 2014-15 stood at 43,736,866 tons while the figure stood at 46,280,195 tons during the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a compilation by ICMW.
